{"id":150,"date":"2019-06-06T12:10:41","date_gmt":"2019-06-06T10:10:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.godefroid-harp-competition.be\/settlement\/"},"modified":"2026-01-28T09:37:36","modified_gmt":"2026-01-28T08:37:36","slug":"rules-procedures","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.godefroid-harp-competition.be\/en\/rules-procedures\/","title":{"rendered":"Rules &#038; Procedures"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"concours-international-de-harpe-felix-godefroid-2021\">International Harp Competition Felix Godefroid 2026<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"fr_orga\">Article 1: Organization<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The 2026 edition of the F\u00e9lix Godefroid International Harp Competition will be staged from 29 April to 3 May 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span class=\"\" lang=\"EN-US\">The 9th International Harp Competition Felix Godefroid is organized by the association \u201c <a href=\"https:\/\/harpemosane.be\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Les Amis de la harpe mosane a.s.b.l. <\/a>\u201d.\r\nLocated in \u00ab Rue des Poul\u00e9es 8, 1400 Nivelles, Belgium \u00bb. <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"fr_object\">Article 1: Goals <\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>In order to increase the public awareness of the harp and to celebrate the harpist and  composer Felix Godefroid,  an international harp competition named: \u201cInternational Competiton Felix Godefroid \u201c is being organised in Tournai. The competition is organized every three years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"fr_admi\">Article 2 : Admission<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The competition is open to harpists of all nationalities aged <strong>35 years old maximum<\/strong> at the time of the competition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"fr_inscri\">Article 3 : Registration <\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Registrations open on: 1st October 2025<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The registration deadline is set on <strong>March 25th 2026.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"droit_part\"><p><a href=\"\/?page_id=142\" data-mce-href=\"https:\/\/www.godefroid-harp-competition.be\/en\/registrations\/\">During the registration process<\/a>, a registration fee will be required.<\/p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"montant\">Amount<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>A non-refundable registration fee is to be paid:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>60 \u20ac per participant in the \u2018Espoir\u2019 and \u2018Jeune Talent\u2019 categories<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>100 \u20ac  per participant in the \u2018Espoir\u2019 and \u2018Jeune Talent\u2019 categories<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"article-5-accuse-de-reception\">Article 4: Receipt <\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Each duly registered candidate will receive an official invitation. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"fr_cate\">Article 5: Categories<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Four categories define the distribution of candidates:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Espoir <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Jeune Talent <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Excellence <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Soliste <\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"fr_prog\">Article 6: Programs <\/h3>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"fr_prog_esp\"> &#8220;Espoir&#8221;: celtic or pedal harp.  <\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Le morceau impos\u00e9 est&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.godefroid-harp-competition.be\/en\/compulsory-piece-espoirs-category\/\">\u00ab&nbsp;Le reflet de l\u2019insouciance&nbsp;\u00bb<\/a>, de Fanny Bodson<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Complete the programme with pieces of your choice to achieve a total duration (including the compulsory work) of <strong>at least 7 minutes <\/strong>and <strong>at most 10 minutes.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All pieces must be performed from memory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"fr_prog_jt\">&#8220;Jeune Talent&#8221;: pedal harp.<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p><p>Mandatory piece: Choose <em><strong>One <\/strong><\/em> piece between:<\/p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>La Laura by F\u00e9lix Godefroid (edition of your choice)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Le D\u00e9sir by F\u00e9lix Godefroid (edition of your choice)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Complete the programme with pieces of your choice to achieve a total duration (including the compulsory work) of <strong>at least 12 minutes <\/strong>and <strong>at most 15 minutes.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All pieces must be performed from memory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"fr_prog_ex\">&#8220;Excellence &#8220;: pedal harp.<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p><p><em>Two mandatory pieces:<\/em><\/p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>In the Book &#8220;20 \u00e9tudes m\u00e9lodiques&#8221; from F\u00e9lix Godefroid, choose one of the following studies: \r\nStudy 15 OR Study 18<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/bayard-nizet.be\/partitions\/barcarolle-opus-19a\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">&#8220;Barcarolle&#8221;<\/a>, by Philippe Verkaeren<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Complete the programme with pieces of your choice to achieve a performance lasting a total of <strong>minimum 20 minutes<\/strong> and <strong>maximum 25 minutes<\/strong> (including the mandatory piece).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All pieces, with the exception of Ph. Verkaeren\u2019s \u2018Barcarolle\u2019, must be performed from memory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"fr_prog_solo\">&#8221; Soliste &#8220;: pedal harp.<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p><p><strong>Elimination Round<\/strong>:<\/p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Two compulsory pieces:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.godefroid-harp-competition.be\/en\/competition-program\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.godefroid-harp-competition.be\/impose-au-1er-tour-categorie-solistes\/\">&#8220;Un petit \u00e9cho de fredons&#8221;<\/a>, Claude Ledoux<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In the Book &#8220;20 \u00e9tudes m\u00e9lodiques&#8221; from F\u00e9lix Godefroid, choose one of the following studies: \r\n\u00c9tude nr.16 OR  nr. 20 <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Complete the programme with pieces of your choice to achieve a performance lasting a total of <strong>minimum 25 minutes<\/strong> and <strong>maximum 28 minutes<\/strong> (including the mandatory piece).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>All pieces, with the exception of Cl. Ledoux&#8217;s &#8220;Un petit \u00e9cho de fredons&#8221; must be performed from memory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><p><strong>Final Round: <\/strong><\/p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Two compulsory pieces:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Sacred Dance and Profane Dance by Claude Debussy, accompanied by &nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.chapellemusicaletournai.be\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Tournai Musical Chapel Orchestra<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A piece by F\u00e9lix Godefroid of your choice<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Complete the programme with pieces of your choice to achieve a performance lasting a total of <strong>minimum 25 minutes<\/strong> and <strong>maximum 28 minutes<\/strong> (including the mandatory piece).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>No piece from the elimination round may be performed in the final round. <\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>All pieces must be performed from memory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"fr_instr\">Article 7. : Instruments<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Celtic and pedal harps from the firm CAMAC will be available for use during the contest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Competitors may choose the instrument on which they will perform the pieces presented.<br>If they wish, they may perform on their own instrument.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"fr_prix\">Article 8. : Prizes <\/h3>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"categorie-espoir\">&#8220;Espoir&#8221; <\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>1st prize: \u20ac300<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2nd prize: \u20ac200<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>3rd prize: \u20ac100<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"categorie-jeune-talent\">&#8220;Jeune Talent&#8221;<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li> 1st prize:  500 \u20ac<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2nd prize: 300 \u20ac<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>3rd prize:  200 \u20ac<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"categorie-excellence\">&#8220;Excellence&#8221;<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>1st prize: 1500 \u20ac<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2nd prize:  1000 \u20ac<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>3rd prize: : 500 \u20ac<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"categorie-soliste\">&#8220;Soliste&#8221;<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>1st prize: 3000 \u20ac<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2nd prize:  1500 \u20ac<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>3rd prize: : 1000 \u20ac<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"fr_jury\">Article 9 : Jury<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The Jury is composed of professional Belgian and foreign musicians and harpists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Jurors cannot vote for any participant who is or has ever been their student. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The attribution of a prize (or a non attribution) is an exclusive jury competence. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Decisions of jury are final and there is no right of appeal. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"fr_divers\">Article 10 : Invitation <\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><p>Candidates are personally invited by e-mail.<br\/>The invitations indicate the date, place and approximate \u00a0competition time of the candidate.<\/p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"article-12-desistement-annulation\">Article 11 : Cancellation <\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>A non-refundable registration fee is due to  \u201cLes Amis de la Harpe mosane a.s.b.l.\u201d for all the general expenses occurred for the organization of the contest. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If the organizer should announce the cancellation of the contest, the participants who had already paid would be refunded their subscription fee and only this fee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"article-13-partitions\">Article 12. : Scores <\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Candidates will bring their own scores except for the mandatory piece. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Artistic committee remind to all participants that the use of photocopies is forbidden.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"article-14-public\">Article 13 : Public<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Performances at all stages will be open to the public in compliance to any health regulations that may be imposed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><p><strong>If the sanitary situation does not allow the competition to be held in person and in public, the competition administrators reserve the right to hold the competition via streaming.<\/strong><\/p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"article-15-droits-a-l-image\">Article 14 : Image Rights<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The candidate agrees that his\/her performance may be photographed and filmed in order to be streamed and published for the purpose of promoting the Felix Godefroid competition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"article-16-acceptation\">Article 15 : Acceptation<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Each candidate or any civil representatives having read the present competition rules accept them all. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Decisions of jury are final and there is no right of appeal. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>International Harp Competition Felix Godefroid 2026 Article 1: Organization The 2026 edition of the F\u00e9lix Godefroid International Harp Competition will be staged from 29 April to 3 May 2026.
