The Competition is open to harpists of all nationalities who have not passed their 35th birthday by the time of the competition.

Catégorie Espoir  : lever harp or pedal harp. 

The required piece is ‘Le reflet de l’insouciance’, by Fanny Bodson.

Complete the programme with pieces of your choice to achieve a performance lasting a total of (including the compulsory work) of at least 7 minutes and at most 10 minutes.

All pieces must be performed from memory.

Catégorie Jeune Talent: pedal harp

Mandatory piece: Choose One piece between:

  • La Laura, Félix Godefroid (edition of your choice)
  • Le Désir, Félix Godefroid (edition of your choice)

Complete the programme with pieces of your choice to achieve a performance lasting a total of (including the compulsory work) of at least 12 minutes and at most 15 minutes.

All pieces must be performed from memory.

Catégorie Excellence: pedal harp

Two compulsory pieces

Complete the programme with pieces of your choice to achieve a performance lasting a total of minimum 20 minutes and maximum 25 minutes(including the mandatory piece).

All pieces, with the exception of Ph. Verkaeren’s ‘Barcarolle’, must be performed from memory.

Catégorie Solistes, 1st round:

Two compulsory pieces

  • In Félix Godefroid’s collection ‘20 Melodic Studies for Harp’, choose between Study No. 16 OR Study No. 20 (1 CHOICE)
  • “Un petit écho de fredons” by Claude Ledoux.

Freely complete the programme of pieces of your choice to achieve a total performance time, including compulsory pieces, of minimum 25 minutes and maximum 28 minutes.

All works, with the exception of ‘Un peitt écho de fredons’ by Cl. Ledoux, must be performed from memory.

Catégorie Solistes, 2nd round:

Complete the programme with pieces of your choice to achieve a total performance time of minimum 25 minutes and maximum 28 minutes.

No piece from the preliminary round may be played in the final round.

All pieces must be performed from memory.
