Albane Baron is principal harpist of the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra since 2024.

Born in 2000 in the Paris region, she discovered the sound of the harp at the age of three and was immediately captivated by the instrument. Maëlle Rochut and later Florence Bourdon’s teaching enabled her to join the National Conservatory of Music and Dance in Lyon at age 17, studying with Fabrice Pierre, Sophie Bellanger, Sylvain Blassel and Park Stickney.

She gained solid orchestral experience playing with youth orchestras such as the Orchestre Français des Jeunes and the Gustav Mahler Jugendorchester, and with the Akademie in the Wuppertal Sinfonieorchester during season 2022-23. In Germany, harpists Françoise Verherve at the HfMDK in Frankfurt and Manuela Randlinger-Bilz in Wuppertal transmitted to her their passion for German orchestral culture.

As a soloist, Albane was awarded the Jeune Espoir Prize at the Martine Géliot Harp Competition in 2019. In 2023, she was selected for the Jeunes Talents programme in Paris and joined the touring festival Un Été en France alongside Gautier Capuçon.

Passionate about teaching, Albane obtained her pedagogy degree in 2021. Since 2026, she has been teaching orchestra repertoire in the harp class at Codarts University of the Arts in Rotterdam.
